Riyue Bao PhD (a.k.a. Sunny), is a Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and Co-Director of Bioinformatics at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Bao was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago and served as Associate Director of Cancer Immunology at Center for Research Informatics between 2012 and 2019. She obtained her Ph.D. in Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics at Wayne State University in 2012. As a bioinformatician and computational biologist by training, she has led data analysis for numerous multi-omics projects. Dr. Bao’s research bridges bioinformatics methodological advances and biomedical applications, with a direct impact on accelerating the knowledge discovery to new clinical trials that could benefit patients in cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Bao is a member of International Society for Computational Biology and The American Association of Immunologists. Dr. Bao is also a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, Melanoma Research Foundation, and Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer. Current CV/Biosketch is available upon request.
