Afsaneh Amouzegar, MD is a PGY2 resident in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran. In 2015, Amouzegar moved to Boston, MA, and started working as a research fellow in the field of transplant immunology at Harvard Medical School, focusing on T cell mediated mechanisms of allograft rejection and immunosuppressive function of mesenchymal stem cells. In 2019, she started her residency at UPMC, and began collaborating with Dr. Jason Luke at the TIIL lab. Her research here focuses on determining the blood correlates of response to immunotherapy in less common subtypes of melanoma, and STING-based therapies in melanoma.”
